‘Louis Vuitton’, ‘Prada’ and ‘Christian Dior’ for dogs at the Ro & Friends boutique in Ashford
An entrepreneur has gone on a furore with her luxury dog boutique.
Lauren Knight has won stubborn support with her company offering ‘Louis Vuitton’, ‘Prada’ and ‘Christian Dior’ for puppies.
Products include a ‘Versace’ hoodie for £21.99 and a ‘Gucci’ jacket for £25.99.
The 21-year-old came up with the idea for a canine clothesline Ro and her friends sat in bed with her partner Ryan.
“I’ve always wanted to run a business myself; I’ve dealt with anxiety and it feels much more natural to run it myself rather than being in a large office or space with crowds other people all the time,” she explained.
“We had our only dog at the time, and the idea suddenly clicked and seemed like the perfect fit.”
The company has gone from strength to strength ever since, moving twice to its current premises at Highpoint Business Village in the Henwood Industrial Estate.
Owners looking to outfit their canine companions can find sweaters, bags, pajamas and more featuring famous names such as ‘Balenciaga’, ‘Adidas’, ‘Chanel’ and more.
Ms Knight, who lives in the Repton Park area, runs the store day-to-day, while her partner helps her after her shifts at the post office.
“When we moved into our first small space, we outgrew it in four months, which was amazing,” she said.
“We started out just making clothes, but were able to expand our product base to include beds, toys, treats and more.”
Joined at work every day by her faithful assistants Milo, Mimi and the youngest Bunny, the former student of Canterbury College was able to learn a lot about what her clients are looking for.
“We mainly do smaller dogs, but we ask owners of larger ones whether or not we have a certain chunk in their dog’s size,” she explained.
“Sometimes we do – our coats and vests go up to what I would say is about the size of a Labrador – but there’s a lot more market for smaller dogs.
“It’s not just because of the fashion, it’s also practical; during the winter months, small dogs feel the cold much more, they can shiver as soon as they go outside.”
One pup who’s been spotted wearing fashion clothes – albeit from a different supplier – is Cranbrook’s own TV star, Puggy Smalls.
The pug, dubbed Europe’s most famous internet dog, has over a million social media followers.

But he’s not the county’s only four-legged friend on the small screen, with Snodland’s border collie Echo hitting the big time with Nellie Nelson in Netflix’s Heartstopper.
