Loyal WI K9 Honored for Exceptional Career Service

For the first time ever, I have the pleasure of honoring an exceptional dog as this week’s hometown hero, and it brings a HUGE smile to my face.

Meet Sasha DeBoer, a loyal and newly retired member of the Rock County Sheriff’s Department in Wisconsin.

I think the reason I like the nomination letter we received from Laurie Nolan from Beloit, Wisconsin is that she took the time to honor both Sasha’s outstanding work and service from Sasha’s beloved manager, Nate. I think after reading this you’ll fully agree that Nate and Sasha are an amazing pair of heroes and totally deserving of this week’s Hometown Hero honors;

My hometown hero is Sasha DeBoer. Sasha just retired from rock city WI. Sheriff’s Department. Serving Beloit Janesville and surrounding areas. She was their K9. Nate DeBoer was his master. Nate continues to serve the Rock City area. Nate also served in the US Army and toured Iraq, before becoming an officer for Rock City. Sasha and Nate were partners for 9 years before Sasha retired. The oldest K9 in Rock City. She participated in 150 leads and 600 searches. Sasha spends the rest of her retirement at home with her family. Nate and Sasha are my hometown heroes.

Sasha might be able to do amazing things, but I guess buying things online isn’t one of them, so Nate, can you please use the $100 Amazon gift card that we offer you Gustafson Furniture and Mattresses buy something for Sasha that will really make her wag her tail? Thank you!

Sasha, we hope you enjoy many lazy retreat days and lots of hugs too!
