The EmbraceCLE Community Challenge is accepting entries for 2022 – Morning Journal
Area nonprofits are invited to enter next month’s EmbraceCLE Community Challenge, a fundraising contest proposed for the third year.
The challenge is organized by Embrace Pet Insurance Company, a Cleveland-based dog and cat health insurance provider that offers its services nationwide, according to a press release.
The challenge is open to all 501(c)3 organizations located in Lorain, Cuyahoga, Medina, Summit, Geauga, Lake and Portage counties, regardless of organizational mission, the statement said.
“This year’s Healthy Community Challenge will see a select group of local charities compete to raise the most money for their non-profit organization,” the statement read.
The charity that raises the most money will be declared the winner.
“As we enter the challenge’s third year, we’ve never been more proud and excited to support Cleveland-based nonprofits,” said Brian Macias, president of Embrace Pet Insurance, which ran the competition in 2020. “Over the years we have seen how hard these charities work year round and they step up when it comes to meeting this challenge.
“Brian Macias, president of Embrace Pet Insurance, first identified the need for a large-scale fundraising opportunity in August 2020,” Tara Byrne, spokesperson for the group, said in the statement. “In September 2020, the Challenge kicked off, raising thousands of dollars for local missions.”
“From all of us at Embrace, thank you for what you have done and continue to do to impact our community,” Macias said.
Applications are being accepted for this year’s participants until mid-August, the press release said.
The program will begin at noon on September 1 and run until 11:59 p.m. on September 30, according to the statement.
“In its inaugural year, 2020, over $200,000 was raised by 12 local charities participating in the EmbraceCLE Community Challenge,” Byrne said. “In 2021, 19 nonprofits participated, raising nearly $130,000.
“To date, 20 organizations have registered to participate in this year’s challenge.
