Here is your chance to vote for the best male and female results in high school last week on the South Coast. Voting will end at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The male and female winners will be posted within regular Friday hours, as well as on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

GNB Voc-Tech Alex DaCruz became the first Bear to win an All-State title when he won the triple jump (44-11.25).

GNB Voc-Tech Dominek Borden, who was 19th seed in the 400-meters, was ninth in 50.88 in All-States.

New Bedford Flordan Bazilé was sixth in the 200 meters with a personal best of 22.52 in the United States.

Old Rochester Colby Gross was third in the 400 meters (49.50) at All States.

Old Rochester David reynolds was fifth in discus (149-1) and seventh in shot put (50-11) at All-States.

by Wareham King Ryker placed 14th overall in the pentathlon at the All-State competition. King set personal bests in four of the five events, breaking his own outdoor pentathlon school record with a score of 2,529.

In Bishop Stang’s victory over Fairhaven in the Div. 3 South Final, Bishop Stang’s Declan Markey scored a school record equaling 11 goals and distributed an assist. He also scored Stang’s only goal in the South final against Norwell.


Nathaniel Caron came back from an 8-0 drop to beat Braintree’s Tsukasa Watanabe 15-14 at 132 pounds to help New Bedford win 66-3 and advance to the Div. 1 South final.


Seamus marshall struck out nine strikes and walked one while allowing no runs and no hits in five innings to propel Bishop Stang to a playoff victory over Cardinal Spellman.

Cam Gordon went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and two RBIs as Fairhaven beat Ashland in his first playoff appearance in five years.

In a playoff loss to Whitman-Hanson, Harvey Berube played six innings, allowing two runs on four hits with four walks and three strikeouts. He also went 2-for-2 with a walk.


In GNB Voc-Tech’s victory over Brockton in the South Tournament, Luis Cortijo finished with 22 kills, 10 digs and three blocks while Alberto Gomes distributed 49 assists and also made 20 digs and 17 serve points.

Morgan Hayward of Apponequet had a late kick to claim first place in the mile event with a time of 5: 31.48, with Emma Carroll of Old Rochester taking second at 5: 32.69.


Old Rochester Jen williams was third in the 100m hurdles (14.87) at All States.

Apponequet’s Morgan hayward came seventh out of 400 (57.78) in All States.

Lena Tsonis had a huge day at the plate to propel GNB Voc-Tech to a playoff upheaval from Norton as she went 3v3 and led seven points.

Apponequet’s Jillian rogers struck out three strikes while allowing two runs on five hits and no walks in six innings in a playoff loss to Middleboro. Against Holliston, Rogers went the distance for No. 8 Apponequet, striking out 11 holds on strikes and allowing just one hit in the division. 2 South first round match.

Meg horan scored seven goals and three assists in a loss to Scituate in the Div. 1 South.


No. 1 Brooklyn bindas defeated Gracyn Lord of Cohasset 6-0, 6-1 to end the season a perfect 10-0 while Wareham’s first doubles team of Mackenzie Brodley and Olivia’s Powers also remained undefeated after their 6-4, 6-2 victory over Piper Finn and Charlotte Hunnewell.
